Cayton Corinthians Junior Football Club was established in 2002 and achieved FA Charter Standard in 2004. The Junior Club was launched with the intention of providing opportunities for participation in football for local boys, and more recently girls. We are achieving this by providing safe, effective and fun coaching and competitive play in the Scarborough and District Minor League and the City of York Girls Football League competitions.

We have boys teams at U9, U10, U12, two at U13and an U15. We also have girls teams at U12 and U16 and an U16 soccability team.

All coaches are qualified to F.A level 1 or F.A level 2 and we also have a J.F.O tutor and two CDF coaches as well as a female coach mentor.

We are based at Cayton Playing Fields Association who supply us with 1 Full sized pitch, 1 Junior pitch,1 Mini soccer pitch. Parents of players are also given use of the excellent bar and clubhouse facilities.

We have developed links with various local partners: The Scarborough School Sports Partnership, George Pindar Community  Sports College and Graham School. Primary schools we have worked with are East Ayton, Hinderwell, Wheatcroft, Cayton, Overdale. We are now working with Woodlands Special school and Welburn Hall Special  school. We have been involved in  coaching initiatives, sharing facilities and recruitment in all these schools.

The club also helped George Pindar, Graham School and East Ayton Primary School achieve their Charter Standard School awards.

2005 saw the introduction of a girl's team who played in friendly matches with other Scarborough girl's teams and touring sides in their first season. The following season saw them compete in the Scarborough and District Minor League and Cup.

A soccability (disability) team was started in October 2007. The club was initially assisted in the setting up of the side by the NRCFA and the Community Coach but is now running it itself.

In November of 2007 we were awarded with a certificate by the North Riding FA in honour of our exemplary behaviour for the season 2006/07 as a Charter Standard club.

February 2008 saw the club hold its first Anti-Racism day. All players were supplied with "Stand Up Speak Up" wristbands to wear and photographed for an article in the local press. The event was also promoted on Yorkshire Coast Radio.

The club's next achievement came on May 23rd 2008 when it was awarded the F.A Charter Standard Development Club status, becoming the first club in Scarborough to hold the award.

The final accolades to cap a very successful 2007/08 season came when we won the NRCFA Charter Standard Club of the year award. A second successive exemplary behaviour certificate and Sue Flinton received an FA Football Workforce Volunteers Award. We also got three teams to cup finals and our girls team won their league.

In December 2008 we began our second girls team. A group of U10s came along to represent the club at a mini festival organised by the NRCFA. The team was hastily put together in a matter of days and most of the players met for the first time just 20 minutes before kick off.

The club continued its development with the girls' teams entering the City of York Girls League to enable them to get more games. The soccability  joined the inaugural NRCFA Junior Ability Counts league. Further club/school links were formed in order to raise awareness of girls football. In 2010 the club also won the prestigious FA Community Award for Charter Standard Development Clubs at both County and Regional Levels

In 2011 the club was invited to form a partnership with the Scarborough and Filey Schools Sports Partnership and the NRCFA to run a girls development centre to give opportunities to girls who weren't in clubs but may like to try out football.

For the 2011/12 season one of our U13s boy's teams left the Scarborough Minor League and joined the Hull Boys Sunday League, meaning we now have teams playing throughout North Yorkshire and Humberside.
